That’s where Lemire joined, launching an ongoing Old Man Logan series, with his former Green Arrow partner Sorrentino remaining on art duties. As part of 2015’s Secret Wars, the world of Old Man Logan, now called the Wastelands, was made part of Battleworld, and a new mini-series by Brian Michael Bendis and Andrea Sorrentino saw Logan exploring the patchwork nature of Battleworld and eventually find himself in the remade Marvel Universe in the present. So this story was really about taking both of those things and combining them into one last big story that brings everything I have done in the series full circle.” Originally, Old Man Logan was a mini-series by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven that took place in a future where all of the heroes are dead, the world is ruled by various villains, and Wolverine lives in exile with a family and has gray hair and a failing healing factor. “The other big part of the series has been the ‘man out of time’ aspect of Logan struggling with what may or may not be his apocalyptic future. “For me, a large part of writing Old Man Logan has been about taking old Wolverine tropes and stories and then seeing those again but through the lens of Old Man Logan instead, with the different perspective he brings,” Lemire told us in an email interview.
